The first international conference of palaeogeography was held in September 2013 in Beijing  and has been successfully held for six sessions so far. The conferences effectively promoted the exchange and interaction of experts on palaeogeography worldwide. Based on decision by the Council of the International Society of Palaeogeography, the 7th International Conference of Palaeogeography will be held in Mendoza, Argentina in 2026.
