Xiujuan Zheng

Professor Xiujuan (Jully) Zheng, received her bachelor of science degree in geology from Northwest University in 1989. In 2001, she graduated from the School of Literature, Henan University with a master's degree in editorial studies. In 2005, she graduated from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) with a Ph.D. degree in mineral prospecting and exploration in sedimentology.

She began to work since 1989 and participated in the geological research work in her early years, and won the “Special Prize” of Petrochina Huabei Oilfield Company. She has been engaged in the editing work of science and technology periodicals since 1994, and is the winner of the Young Editor Award of China Science and Technology periodicals – “the Horse Award”, and “the excellent chief-editor” of Chinese university science and technology periodicals. Her current research interests include sedimentary geology and palaeogeography, and journal editing. She served as editorial director and executive deputy editor of Journal of Palaeogeography (Chinese edition). She also served as deputy secretary general of Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, and secretary-general of the Lithofacies and Palaeogeography Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry.

She published 54 articles including 22 geological articles, six popular science articles, and 26 editorial articles. Participated in the preparation and publication of eight monographs including: three books about geology; three books about editorial works of which two books were independently edited; one book about higher educational work; one book about popular science.
