Jianbo Liu

Jianbo Liu is currently working as a professor at School of Earth and Space Sciences, Peking University. He received his bachelor's degree and Master’s degree in Palaeontology and Stratigraphy from Peking University, China in 1988 and 1991, respectively. After three years’ working as an assistant and lecture at Peking University, he was admitted to Osaka City University and obtained PhD in Geoscience in 1998. He has been working at Peking University since then, and serves as Vice Minister of the Academic Affairs Department at Peking University.

Prof. Jianbo Liu main research interests are Paleozoic geobiology, focusing on the interaction processes and mechanisms between organisms and the environment during the transitional period of biological evolution. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-review papers, and awarded the first-class prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, China. He is a council member of the Chinese Paleontological Society, the deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Paleogeography, and an editorial board member of the Journal of Stratigraphy.
