Hairuo Qing
Prof. Hairuo Qing received his bachelor degree from Chengdu University of Technology in 1982, master and PhD degrees from McGill University in 1986 and 1991, respectively. Afterward, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in University of Ottawa from 1991-1992, and a NSERC research fellow in GSC-Calgary from 1993-1995. Then he moved to Royal Holloway, University of London in 1995, and worked as a lecturer there until 1998. Afterward, he returned to Canada, and worked in University of Regina as an assistant professor, associate professor and professor. Currently Professor Qing is the Head of the Department of Geology at the University of Regina.
Prof. Qing’s research is focused on characterization and modeling carbonate reservoirs. He is now the Chief Editor of the Bulletin of Canadian Petroleum Geology, and Associate Editor of Sedimentology. He has a total of over 100 peer-reviewed publications that are well recognized in geology communities as indicated by a total citation of over 3000 times and the h-index of 31.
